English

The following house rules apply to all our Spelslot activities. We ask members to follow these house rules and you may be asked to leave once they are broken.

Be nice and respect each other ♥️

This informal house rule should already largely cover all other rules. With this rule in mind, you need not worry about anything as all other rules are based on it. (This rule is informal and not enforced) Should you still fail to do so, we may choose not to allow you at (events) of Spelslot anymore.

No discrimination or hate speech

No discrimination of any kind will be tolerated. Be it age, disability, origin, dress, identity, sexual orientation, etc. No one should publicly scold any person, group or organisation for the express purpose of spreading hatred within the community. However, openly expressing strong dislike for something or someone is allowed as long as no one feels hurt by it.

Free will

You may not force anyone to do anything. No part of any activity is ever compulsory. Members may not force each other to perform certain things against their will.

No alcohol, no drugs

Spelslot is an alcohol- and drug-free group, so we ask members not to bring alcohol or drugs to activities. This includes any narcotic or hallucination-inducing substances that can be ingested. You may not consume alcohol, hard or soft drugs during Spelslot events. You may also not have them with you. If, due to use before you arrive at Spelslot, you show behaviour that indicates use, we will assess this as mentioned  under ‘Obnoxious and offensive behaviour’.

The only exception to this rule is your own medication if you can prove that it belongs to you.

Weapons

You are not allowed to carry weapons on your person. Even a large pocket knife is considered a weapon. If you are caught, we will alert the police. Aggression, threats, assault and other forms of aggression against people present at a Spelslot events are forbidden. If you do so, you will be removed.

Obnoxious and offensive behaviour

A visitor who, for whatever reason and on whatever grounds, displays disruptive, offensive and/or aggressive behaviour, or behaves in a disruptive way towards other visitors and does not comply with a summons, will be given one warning. If this warning is not heeded, this visitor will be removed. If the reason is psychological vulnerability, then Spelslot is not the place to discuss this, as this falls outside our knowledge and skill and the purpose of Spelslot. We then recommend that you seek professional help for this.

Take care of your surroundings / Order and tidiness

Together, we make sure we leave everything clean again and tidy things up. You also make sure that all items remain intact. In the unlikely event that something breaks, report it to someone from the organisation.

At the end of the evening, we make sure that the chairs are in the right place, things are back in the cellar and the dishwasher is cleaned.

Theft

Theft in any way will result in immediate disqualification from Spelslot events. It will also (of course) be reported to the police.

Internet and e-mail use

You can use the internet available at the venues where we hold events. At the FNV, we can use their internet; login details are available from the organisation.

For the use of this internet, the rules as drawn up by the FNV are the basis and on top of that we set the condition that it is mainly used for the purpose of the events, i.e. D&D related stuff like DnDBeyond, looking up rules and related stuff. No illegal or inappropriate content should be viewed or activities undertaken that generate a lot of internet traffic (e.g. downloading large files)

Whatsapp

You will be added to the Whatsapp community after the first time you attend a Spelslot event (if you want to). We use Whatsapp for communication around events and for fun and exchange of information between players.

So the purpose of the whatsapp groups / community is also communication around Spelslot / Tabletop RPGs and you can be addressed when you share other things.

If you share things that are not in line with the above goals, messages can be deleted by the administrators, you will get one warning and we will ask you for an explanation. If it happens again after that, you will be removed from the community and a discussion will follow on whether you are still welcome at Spelslot. (See also Obnoxious and offensive behaviour). Messages of a personal nature outside Spelslot must first be approved by the board before being posted in the app.

Coffee, tea and soft drinks

Coffee and tea are on the counter in the central hall and can be used free of charge. So are soft drinks in the indicated fridge (“voor jongeren”). However, only use the items marked as Spelslot items. You are also free to donate drinks or food for joint use (but let us know, so we can label them if needed).

Complaints procedure / confidant

We assume that people dare to speak to each other when someone experiences something unpleasant. If this does not get the desired result then the first point of contact is the board’s social person. If this is not seen as sufficient the confidant will be involved. A confidant is for serious matters, not for minor issues that can also be discussed simply as people among themselves. For more information you can look at https://www.arboportaal.nl/onderwerpen/vertrouwenspersoon (Dutch).

Dress code

There is no dress code at Spelslot, just come as you are! In the unlikely event that you do cause offense, you may be approached about it and we expect you to find a solution by mutual agreement.

Announcements by the organisation

Announcements from the organisation will be made via the spelslot.nl website. Attention will also be drawn to the announcements via WhatsApp when a new announcement is available.

Building opening hours

The FNV building will be open for Spelslot on Wednesday evenings from around 18:30. Around 23:30, we have to leave the building again. After 22:00, it should be quiet outside the event venue to avoid complaints.

These times may occasionally change.

Listen to instructions from the organisers

Instructions from organising members should be respected. For example, a request to be quieter, to stop certain actions or a request to leave at a certain activity.

We (of course) follow the law

These rules are in addition to the law and the rules as they apply at the location where the event is located.

Volunteers

We are extremely happy with our volunteers. At events organised by Spelslot, they are recognisable by a Spelslot logo on their clothing. We expect our volunteers to comply with our regulations and be an example to others.

Finally

Should anything occur that is not mentioned in any of the previous rules, the organisation of Spelslot has the final say.
